Kakap is one of village with full of exotiques. we make you closer to fishermans lifes in Kuala Karang village and Sepok Laut village. It is the floating village which have floating road made from Belian woods to reach each home cluster around the village, explore the primate of Bekantan (Nasalis Larvatus Wurmb)and Lutung (Langur/Trachypithecus)at the banks of forest in Tanjung Bunga village.
And also explore the Mangrove forest 60.000ha (total in Indonesia is 2,5 million until 4,5 millon hecto ares)and some Vihara with special old architectures, full of painting and chinesse ornament and Pekong Padu Empat (Che Cio Ciang Kun) built on 1950 as the center of four rivers (Kakap river, Rasau river, Sepok Laut river and Teluk Pakedai river).

Solar Culmination, held on 21-23 March 2010

Sun culmination (solar eclipse) is one of natural phenomena in EQUATOR LINE while the sun rotate in 0" degrees celcius. it happen twice a year on 21th -23th March and 21th -23th September and it could be seen in Pontianak City,West Kalimantan at Equator Monument which is built on the line. You would not find your own or all the thing's shadows when built or stand up at those line at 12.00 o'clock and happening during 10-15 minutes.
Traditional games competition, treaditional dance, food bazaar and festival will held and shown together with some regencies of all Kalimantan Province Tourism Board every year. The attraction performance by Dayak, Malay and Chinese-Tionghoa ethnics. So, don't miss it and be a part of it!!.

Meriam Karbit Festival, will held 10 August 2010

Meriam Karbit is one of an art and traditional games festival of Malay society at the banks of Kapuas River, Pontianak city - West Kalimantan. it celebrates every year in the last day of Ramadhan fast to welcome for Idul Fitri. The Meriam must be wet and save into the river after ceremonial until the next year.
